We enjoyed the chicken parm so much I decided to put some of the leftovers on Friday's pizza:
... which turned out to be a brilliant idea. SP made his usual sauce, which went down first, followed by some of the chicken cut into large chunks, a few overly ripe tomatoes cut into wedges and dollops of pesto I made earlier in the week.
The flavors all worked incredibly well together. I think we'll have to experiment more with chicken as a topping.
Mmmm. It all looks so neat and perfect. You could be photographing food for magazines you know.
ReplyDeleteOOOOH...there was a pizza place near my old job in Jersey that had this amazing pizza called Grandma's. It was a Sicilian pie with huge chunks of plum tomato, fresh mozzarella and topped with pesto. It was absolute heaven.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous.
TOO BAD I CAN'T GET IT HERE. HMPH! :)
Yum, that looks delicious! Your pizza dough always looks so tempting - you make your own dough, don't you? If you do, I'd love the recipe to give it a go! It always looks so beefy and mmmmmm :D
ReplyDeleteJoJo - Thanks for saying that! My husband always tells me that but I never believe him. :P
ReplyDeleteC Laz - The pesto was so good! I hope my parents get more basil in their veggie box this week so I can make more.
Katie - Thanks! We don't make our own, although I've heard it's super easy. We buy it from an Italian bakery.
you really do take great photos, all the way around.
ReplyDeletenow that I have a proper oven to make a pizza in, I am going to try it. steve grabbed a pizza pan when we were doing all our new home shopping. I think he was trying to tell me something. ;P
