SP defrosted some sauce he made last week using a bunch of tomatoes my parents gave us from their co-op box. It tasted fantastic, different from canned tomato sauce but I couldn't quite put my finger on why. Maybe less acidic but with a nice kick from some red pepper flakes.

Pasta and Sauce
We needed something easy for dinner tonight so we had pasta and sauce:

SP defrosted some sauce he made last week using a bunch of tomatoes my parents gave us from their co-op box. It tasted fantastic, different from canned tomato sauce but I couldn't quite put my finger on why. Maybe less acidic but with a nice kick from some red pepper flakes.

That looks like a nice simple meal. We used to make goulash, something like your dish, really often.
ReplyDeleteI made my stand-by potato soup tonight. I love soup.
Is that cheese on top? I love cheese, especially Velveeta.
ReplyDeleteJoJo - I have a meat goulash recipe I made a few times last fall/winter that I'm anxious to make again once the weather turns.
ReplyDeleteOooh...potato soup. I love potato soup!
longhair - Yup, lots of fluffy tendrils of pecorino cheese. You like cheese? I had no idea. :P
I also like the Calamari tendrils...they are my favorite part...such crunchy little bits!
