JoJo - I was surprised by how well it turned out considering what I had to work with. We had three avocados - the first one I cut into was splotchy brown but seemed OK, the second was hard as a rock and very discolored, despite feeling perfect when I tested it (I didn't use this one), and the third felt ripe but turned out to be just barely useable. After all that it ended up tasting sensational. Go figure!
Alotta - We should do a Mexican-themed dinner sometime.
Honestly, the guacamole sucked. I used a Florida "lean" avocado since they looked and felt better than the Haas, but, it was really runny and kind of flat flavored. Oh well. We all can't be perfect like you ;)
longhair - I've never tried a Florida avocado before. Runny avocado is never good. But that's not your fault; read my reply to JoJo about the avocados we had.
I've been told there are issues with comments going through. After you comment, you should see the following message: "Your comment has been saved and will be visible after blog owner approval." If you don't see a message it means the comment didn't go through. Please try commenting again! I'm sorry!
Could you just mail me a heaping spoonful of that guac? It looks perfect!

That's funny...we had chicken and steak fajitas for dinner last night as well...but mine were better ;)
ReplyDeletelonghair - Oh yeah? What makes yours better? :P
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks so colourful! I'm not a huge fan of avocado, so I'd probably skimp a little on it, but YUMMMMM! :)
