BBQ

I didn't think I'd have any blog posts this week. Monday we went out and then Tuesday morning I woke up with a sore throat and cough. Yeah, I'm sick. Again. I never get sick. Tuesday we got Chinese food (extra spicy) but I was so out of it I didn't take any photos. I felt a little better by Wednesday, when SP picked up some BBQ on his way home. We both got a combination platter:

... with ribs, pulled pork (not pictured), macaroni and cheese, spicy collard greens and cornbread. The ribs are nice and meaty, with a great smoky flavor. I drizzled some extra BBQ sauce on them before digging in. The amount of food pictured was half the platter - I took the pulled pork, half the cornbread and the rest of the mac & cheese and collards for my lunch. Delicious!

  1. Collards...I love 'em...didn't used to, but now that I live in the south, there is something different about them.

An entire meal could be just collards.

  2. longhair - I didn't like them until I ordered them at this BBQ place. Now I love them, although I've never had them in the South.

  3. Let me tell you, there is this restaurant we eat at a good bit, and they put them with a pot roast and YUM!

    I never liked "northern" collards.

  4. Those ribs look really good. Can you believe I've never ever tried ribs before? The reason being that you have to eat them with your fingers and I hate being messy!

I'd love to try them one day - in the privacy of my own home of course! :P
