Tonight's dinner was a joint effort - SP made the pork chops with Dijon sauce and I made the mashed sweet potatoes and the skillet broccoli with creamy garlic sauce:

The sweet potatoes were Rachael Ray's recipe from 30-Minute Meal Get Togethers.
Here's a close-up shot of the broccoli just because, thanks to The Food Pornographer, I finally figured out how to take them:

The recipe for the skillet broccoli came from Lidia's Family Table. The creamy garlic sauce was a little too strong for SP so next time I think I'd only use one head of garlic instead of two.
Heheheh, fantastic! Good work on the close-up! That creamy sauce looks yummo. I love super garlicky anything!
ReplyDeleteOkay, tell how to take the close up. I just plain think I need a better camera.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
tfp - it's all thanks to you! Re: the garlic sauce: I think it just didn't pair well with the sweetness of the potatoes and the tangy Dijon sauce. If we'd had plain mashed potatoes, I think SP would have liked the garlic sauce more.
ReplyDeleteD - All you need to do for close ups is set your camera to macro mode, which is represented by a tulip. If you look on your camera you should see a tulip icon associated with a button. When I found it on my camera and pressed the button, a little tulip appeared in the view screen. Then you get really close to the food and take the picture and viola...it should be nice and clear.
Curious! I will have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteThough I would still really like a new camera! ;)
