Creamy Bacon Garlic Mushrooms

I first made this dish back in July based on a photo I saw on The Food Pornographer's site. I remember it being rich but flavorful.


While it looks pretty enough, there was something missing that I just couldn't put my finger on. Looking back at the older entry, I think I know what it is - white wine. Whoops, seems I left that out. That's what I get for trying to recreate a recipe based on my memory from 3 months ago.
