My grandparents came from Italy when they were in the early teens. This is great!!!! We also put in some homemade red sauce and diced tomotoes. My grandmother and mother would also use at times just different cuts of beef for flavoring if ham, jowels or hocks were not available. I am planning on posting our recipe some time to my blog.
